43rd Indonesian National Horse Racing 2nd Serie 2009 Bandung

43rd Indonesian National Horse Racing ChampionshipsPORDASI 2nd serie has been held in Arcamanik Horse Racing Track Bandung West Java 25 October 2009. A number of 105 horses from 7 provinces: West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Sumatra, Riau, North Sulawesi and Yogyakarta. This pony race is the second series of the national horse racing championship agenda held every year by PORDASI and the last series in the year which has total scores 180 points divided into 9 classes.

North Sulawesi finally bring home the most prestigious trophy this year after collecting total scores 113.5 points, runner up is Central Java team collecting 62.5 points, followed by West Java team having 62 points, and West Sumatra in the fourth position for 50 points followed by East Java team which has 39 points and Yogyakarta having 9 points and Riau 0 points.

The Governor of West Java Province Mr. Akhmad Heryawan pointed out that this horse racing national championships is the forth race in the national horse racing championship agenda to be held in the West Java Province area and it is the the last racing event held in Arcamanik Horse Racing Track. The legendary horse racing track that built in the 1974 and has been serving for almost 35 years to horse racing maniac in the country. This arena will be closed down for the upcoming new built Integrated Sport Centre Complex that will accommodate most of the sport activities for the West Java team in the future.

The new built Horse Racing Track will be in Jatinangor east part of Bandung. that will able to accommodate all horse sport activities like: racing, polo, equestrian etc.

The race was opened by Mr. Johanes Gluba Gebze the President of Persatuan Olah Raga Berkuda Seluruh Indonesia (PORDASI) -Indonesia Horse Sport Union.

According to Mr. Eddy Saddak Vice President of PORDASI, the race was successful. The champion horses on every class are unpredictable. We can see new shocking and promising horses. Though the number of horses participating is less than last year, but overall the quality is much better. Only Poseidon may be the most shocking horse, this horse shows best performance by beating Saud to be the "Star of Star" champion this year. "Salut for North Sulawesi Team for the best performance team this Year."

Mr. Novi Mewengkang, North Sulawesi Team manager, commented on the achievement of his team said that North Sulawesi team is not only this time to be the CHAMP on horse racing national championships. It has been many times. The team will continue to prepare for the next year championships better. /Bpras/
